5/28 – Day 51 – Bishop Rest Day
I’m spending a recuperation day in Bishop. I am super thin, exhausted, and depressed. I ate three breakfasts: free at the Comfort Inn. I got my hair cut by Dominick. I gobbled down a three meat Barbecue lunch; the owner was very interested in my hike. After I left the joint and was half a block away, a woman in the restaurant came out and yelled to me, “way to go, we’re rooting for you” or something like that; it was cool. Bishop is a real nice town. I just missed the famous Mule Days, the town’s biggest annual event. I saw the new “Star Trek into Darkness” movie. I liked it. I ate two big burgers after the movie and then crashed.
