Plans change. One theme out there on the PCT is HYOH or Hike Your Own Hike. I got fairly discouraged about how the first six days of hiking went so after recuperating I took the train to Reno to get my car and to day hike the PCT from Carson Pass to Echo Lake.
The hike from Carson Pass to Showers lake and back is a 10 mile day hike that I would highly recommend.
I had to laugh as the trail turned to snow again. I counted about forty large patches of snow but it was mostly hard and not difficult to hike through.

I hiked 15 miles today, PCT Mile 1077 – 1092. I have hiked 78 miles total.
